About the Author
 

Ashley Engle grew up in Midland, Michigan alongside two brothers, Zachariah and Jacob. Zach suffered a near-drowning incident at a young age resulting in severe brain injury ultimately confining him to a wheelchair.

​

Ashley's passion for writing children's literature is fueled by having two amazing children of her own, Ayla and Kainen. Ayla was born with a cognitive impairment and ADHD. She is a vibrant, happy-go-lucky young lady. Kainen is a fun-loving, energetic little boy.

​

As a parent to a special needs child and sister to another, Ashley is armed with unique insights into the complex world of disabilities. It is this knowledge that provides her the desire to advocate for the inclusion of all children.

Ashley is a graduate of Central Michigan University (Fire Up Chips!) and resides in Midland, MI, where she works and raises her two children with her loving and supportive husband, Kyle.
